Here is the crankshaft after the Falicon Supercrank modification. They lighten it about a pound, knife edge the counterweights, and polish everything. Also shown are a set of Carrillo rods. They are pretty much bulletproof. Viewed: 864 times.

Partway through the crankshaft buildup. Here the crank is held in the vice while all the clearances are checked and bearing selections made. Viewed: 904 times.

After the bearings are selected it is time to final assemble. Here you can see a micrometer being used to check bolt stretch. Carrillo recommends .005"-.007" bolt stretch at a maximum of 40lb/ft of torque. These are set at .006" which equated to 40lb/ft. Viewed: 859 times.

This engine will be using our #9 cam grind. It is similar to the 153x1 but has a bit more lift and duration, particularly on the exhaust side. This helps it carry power up to 9500rpm without sacrificing midrange, like the old 174x8. Viewed: 823 times.

Stage 2 cylinder heads will be used, with +2mm intake valves and porting by my machinist/cylinder head guru Terry Reed. This cylinder head spec will deliver 8-10hp more than stock, dyno proven time and time again. Viewed: 851 times.
