This SV came to me already built with a 677 kit, oversize valves and ported heads, and Keihin 41mm FCR's. The owner wanted more power. The secret to SV's is "all things in moderation." 90hp is easy, but nobody likes to race a hand grenade, so I thought about how to make the widest, smoothest, ~85hp SV that I could. Out came the cams. The intakes went on the exhaust side, and the exhaust cams went to Megacycle to be reground into one of my "favorites." Adjustable sprockets were installed, the cams timed to the correct numbers, and everything was buttoned back up. A little bit of fiddling with jetting, and I was well pleased with the result.
