After more thinking and conferencing with the owner, we decided to swap cylinder heads with something a lot more aggressive. Off came the heads with the 28mm intake valves, and on went a set of heads with 29.5mm intake valves. While I was at it, I added a valve spring kit with Ti retainers to lighten things up a bit and make it easier on the valve train. (normally I like to use the OEM stuff, it's bulletproof) The Ti retainers don't quite offset the heavier valves, but it's close. I also had the pistons and combustion chambers thermal barrier coated while it was apart. It was all bolted together again, and off to the dyno once more. Now we started making some power! You'll also note that the midrange stayed the same. This is due to the new camshaft, with it's earlier-closing intake valve and shorter overlap, which prevents reversion at lower rpm's, allowing me to use a "bigger" head. Now all the time and effort put into the cam started to come good. However, we wanted more.
