These are the baseline* runs from Kelly Thornton's new 1098S. We gave the bike 20 miles of break-in on the dyno and then pulled the trigger. (blue, all stock with Shell 93 octane fuel) Then just for giggles we dumped in some VP Ultimate 4 to see what would happen. (red) Wow! Overall I am impressed with the new engine's output. A 70mm full system is on order and there will be another dyno session shortly.
(Run conditions: Dynojet 250 @ 700' altitude, around 60F air temp, coolant temp held constant 200F, 40 PSI in tire, correction factor SAE and smoothing 5.
* I have been getting all sorts of emails/comments about this initial set of runs. Baseline means this is just the first set of runs to "see what she has." No tuning, no mapping, no nuthin', just a baseline. To make progress first you have to know where you are starting from!
